The Italian Cemetery was founded in 1899 by La Società Italiana di Mutua Beneficenza, which is the oldest, continuously-existing, Italian-American organization in the United States, established in 1858.
The cemetery came into being primarily to serve the burial needs of society members and of the local Italian community at large. However, from the very beginning the Italian Cemetery has been open to all faiths and nationalities.
We provide traditional earth interment, mausoleum entombment, and inurnment of cremation niches. The Italian Cemetery was founded in 1899, largely to offer a final resting place to individuals and families in San Francisco, Daly City, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and San Bruno, CA. You can spread the expense of the memorial property over a longer length of time with our pre-need plan. Payment arrangements are available to fit any reasonable situation. Our knowledgeable staff will work with you to finalize your plans. A counselor can meet with you at the cemetery or in the comfort and privacy of your own home to discuss your pre-need arrangements. Our cemetery has grown into an important component of the vibrant and ethnically diverse Bay Area community throughout the years. Give us a call today at (650) 755-1511 for more information.
